Drawing from a collection of places, Habitante explores the diversity of ways we think about and construct the spaces in which we live. From fiction to critical theory, from trees to territories, from houses to megastructures, Habitante weaves together perspectives, sensibilities, and scales.

Habitante 04

Through the beings that inhabit them and the stories that haunt them, certain sites make tangible the mixtures, crossings, overlaps, and entanglements that compose and recompose the living. In Issue 04 of Habitante, Alexandra Lange leads us beneath the cold neon lights of malls—bewitching for some, enlightening for others. Galaad van Daele lets himself be overtaken, even enchanted, by the clammy and composite stones of the Grotta Grande. Andrew Toland hikes across the Alpine glaciers—once demonic, then sublime, now living summits. Milena Charbit flies among the swiftlets to uncover the secrets behind the making of their nests.
